Origin Story

This is origin story as in where superheroes come from – think Peter Parker and a radioactive spider… Spiderman!

In this game, players are creating the origin story of their own superhero, building it up over five rounds. More mundanely, each round is a series of tricks with players scoring points according to whether they won as many tricks as they predicted. With various special abilities that can change who wins what.

I'm fascinated by the idea of this game, but find that the special abilities overwhelm the trick-taking mechanism. Hence the later rounds are about who can best use their abilities rather than who has the best card. (Oh, and the artwork is interesting. Very… French!)

For 1-5 players, aged 14+, playing time 45 minutes
