Mahé

I know the original version of this game: Hot Battle at the Cold Buffet (Die Heisse Schlacht am Kalten Buffet). Okay, that's a bit of a mouthful, Mahé is much shorter. The franjos team has re-themed the game to turtles laying eggs, but it's essentially the same.

Every time you make a circuit of the board, you score points. To move, you choose to roll one, two or three dice and move the result multiplied by the number of dice. Easy, eh? Except that, if you roll more than seven, you move back to the start. Oops! While 21 takes you all the way round to score double.

It's a brilliantly simple and clever game and I'm so pleased to see it back in print in this smart edition.

For 2-6 players, aged 6+, playing time 20 minutes
