The 2022 game from the designer and publisher of Peloponnes, the focus here is the Roman Empire's settlements along the Rhine. The river is the border between civilization and the barbarians, so you'll need defences and troops as well as farms, harbours and markets as you build up your city. Trading, fulfilling Imperial decrees and gaining privileges will help you do this.
It's nicely complex without being brain-melting and now has an expansion: Discordia: Magna.
For 1-4 players, aged 12+, playing time 60-90 minutes
