Billabong (2018 ed)
The name gives away the Australian theme of this classic game. Each player has a team of kangaroo pieces and the winner will be the first whose team makes a complete circuit of the board.
When it's your turn, you can move one of your 'roos a space on the square grid. Or hop over adjacent pieces until you run out of them. This is the key to the game: being able to make multiple hops in a single move, potentially taking a kangaroo from the back to the front.
It's essentially an abstract game, but one that's competitive for any number of players. Franjos has done a good job with this new edition: nice wooden kangaroos in a small, square box.
For 2-4 players, aged 9+, playing time 30 minutes
Billabong was designed by Eric Solomon and this edition is published by franjos
