camargue
Camargue

The initial appeal of this game to me was actually the cover art – the deep blue sky, white horses and purple lavender fields (the other thing I understood the Camargue is famous for is black bulls, but there's no sign of them here). It's actually a game about mapping out this marshy region on the south coast of France by playing tiles.

As you'd expect, there are specific rules controlling how tiles are placed. Players have a small hand of these, so have some choice about what to play each turn. Tiles score immediately for the number of the same type in a contiguous group and for slotting them in between existing tiles, which is an interesting mechanism.

It's not a particularly demanding game, but is entertaining – and colourful!

For 2-6 players, aged 8+, playing time 45 minutes

Camargue was designed by Timo Diegel and is published by Abacus

Find out more:
    Camargue on BoardGameGeek
